2 Birthday Celebrations at Volet’s Resort Dasmarinas

We’re back here at Volet’s after 8 years. They have renovated/upgraded the place and it’s gotten better!

Volet's Resort and Hotel Dasmarinas

Celebrating my 2 sons birthdays, we decided to do it here since it is near our place. To avoid crows, we went here on a weekday (Friday). This place is still awesome. Very clean pools, wave pool, kiddie pools, adult pool, lazy rivers for adults and for kids. They have private pools and rooms for those who want to stay overnight.

Volet's Resort and Hotel Dasmarinas

Entrance:
230 for adult
175 for kids below 4 ft (kids above 4 ft are considered adult)
They give discounts to senior citizens and PWDs on entrance only

Tables 350.00 – 800.00

Huge adult pool for those who want to do laps, langoy kung langoy.
Lazy river, the adult one is 4 feet, bring your own salbabida… you can do langoy here too since its 4 feet.
There are plenty of slides, giant slides, regular slides, mini slides, micro slides, tunnel slide. So slide to sawa sa mga mahihilig sa slides.

You can bring foods, its allowed.

How to get here:
Pag commute, sakay lang ng Dasmarinas Hi-Way na bus or jeep (take note, dasma hi-way). Wag sumakay ng Dasma Bayan. Very easy to spot, along aguinaldo hi-way and just infront of Waltermart Dasmarinas. So pagnakita nyo na Waltermart Dasma, baba na, nasa tapat lang ang Volet’s.

Same if going there by car. They have parking spaces.

Pag uuwi na, drop by at Volet’s gotohan, masarap ang lugaw nila dito, any variety masarap, try nyo.

Tierra Mercedes Resort – Cuenca Batangas

We celebrated our 21st anniversary, last month October 2016 at this awesome place.  2 and a half hours drive from Tagaytay via Nasugbu. This is a nature resort, with really beautiful view, the resort was really clean and well taken care of. The staff are awesome too, service is good.

When we went there, we’re the only ones at that time because it is still school days and we went there during a weekday, so we had the resort to our place. They have 3 pools, if you want to just go dipping and a huge pool for if you want to have some laps. 3 giant slides, the other one was really high, and there slides for kids too. Hanging bridge. They have zipline and sky cycling for the more adventurous ones. They also have basketball court, billiard tables, videoke, and a mini playground. Your entire family, especially if you have kids will never get bored here. Not only swimming but plenty of activities to do. They also have hotel rooms and rooms for group accommodations.

The hanging bridge, only 10 people at a time are allowed to be on this bridge for safety reasons.

The mini playground, my kids went here first before going to the zipline / sky cycling area hence the helmet and harness.

The zipline and sky cycling. My 9 year old boy was allowed to do the zipline, he skipped on the skycycling. He’s older brother did both, and if you take the zipline-skycycling package you’ll save on the fee.

There are other attractions too, they have a koi pond, and huge sculptures of animals.

We enjoyed our stay here, and I highly recommend this site for you to visit if you are looking for a resort in Batangas. Relax and have fun!

Dinosaurs Island – Clark, Pampanga

This is a sidetrip when we went to Baguio.  I was looking forward to seeing this place, was thinking of a little bit something like Jurassic Park.

Dinosaur Island Clark

Entrance: Php 350.00
Discounts are given to persons with disability and senior citizens.

When we got there, I wasn’t impressed.  The place is not well maintained, when we went inside to see the dinosaurs I was disappointed.  Bottom line, entrance fee of 350.00 per person and the long trip is not worth it, in my honest opinion.  Especially if you are coming from Metro Manila or other far places.  After this, there will be no more second trip for us here.  Hope the management will consider adding more TLC to the place.  We didn’t tried their safari ride, I think it was 100/head, since we weren’t impressed with what we saw inside the park.

Maybe, just maybe we are not dinosaurs fan.. lol.  But if you are, then you should visit this place.

We took lots of pictures..

Last part of the trail is the dinosaurs show, trex mascots dancing.

Traffic!  My first impression when we got there.. phew  We stayed at a transient house for 350/head.  Thankfully the place we got had a hot shower a friend of ours went there and theirs didn’t have one.  So cold in the evening.

First stop is Burnham Park.  Boating, skating, biking.

Cebu Trip

We had another chance to take a trip, last April we went to Cebu.  Visited a colleague so we can introduce to the what solar energy is and of course, sightseeing and swimming at their place.

First we went to Alcoy for a free seminar on Solar Energy.

After the seminar, we went to Tingko for swimming, the beach is covered in white sand, not that big though but the place is clean and the water too.  There is no entrance fee at the beach.

The next day was bound to Cebu City, but before we left we went to BBB Alcoy (BBB stands for Bodos Bamboo Bar), they had the best pizza there, if you are going to visit Alcoy, try this place, its owned by a foreigner a Dutch I think, the view is nice, the settings too and they have also rooms for accommodation.  The price is not bad either, we had our fill and it didn’t broke my wallet lol.

Then to Cebu City.  We stayed at Cebu Business Hotel located in downtown Cebu.  Place is clean, got a family room and the best part there is free wifi inside the room, I have to work, phew.  Their rates are affordable plus we got a discount because it was weekend, yey!  Just took the deluxe room, we will be spending most of our time outside anyway so not wise to spend so much on hotel accommodations, what’s important for us is we have a clean bed, clean shower and of course wifi so I can work even on tours hah! :D.  Free breakfast for two is included here.

Took some rest so we can go on tour… Our itinerary is just around this place, old churches, fort, park.  We covered all these places in just one day.

When in Cebu City, if you love grilled foods, this is a must visit.  There are so many to choose from and you eat by hand, the rice is in what is called puso wrapped in coconut leaves.

On our 3rd day it rained half day.. too bad, so we just stayed in the hotel, then went out to buy pasalubong..

And the trip was finally over, for our flight we took Air Asia as they have the lowest fare at that time.  Travelling need not be expensive, plan ahead, search for affordable flight fares.

Looking forward to our next trip! 😀
